50 Central Park West
The Prasada is a 49-unit cooperative luxury apartment building from the architectural team of Charles W. Romeyn & Henry R. Wynne. Built in 1907, the 12-story building originally was comprised of three apartments per floor, an eight room apartment in the rear and two larger ten room apartments to the front. Since then, a few apartments have been subdivided to smaller units while others have been combined into breathtaking larger spaces. The Prasada offers 47 units with spectacular views of Central Park and the Upper East Side and midtown skylines and has a full time doorman, attended elevator, laundry room, and storage.
The building’s name is engraved above the steps of its magnificent entrance that has four large two-story banded columns. The renovated lobby with a semicircular loggia, stained-glass panels and a Beaux-Arts-style mix of columns and cornices make The Prasada one of the premier buildings on Central Park West.
