1035 Fifth Avenue, Upper East Side

1035 Fifth Avenue is one of Fifth Avenue’s finest white-glove cooperatives. Designed by renowned architect J.E.R. Carpenter and erected in 1926, this handsome building, in the style of an Italian Renaissance Palazzo, has a four-story limestone base, buff-colored brick on the floors above and an attractive balustraded top. There is extensive sidewalk landscaping. Its canopied entrance leads to a large, elegant lobby that looks onto a landscaped interior garden.

Located just north of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this building is one of the larger prewar buildings on the avenue in terms of its 72 units, which expand over 16 floors. Many of the apartments have stunning views west of Central Park, including the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. The apartments are notable for the grand scale of the rooms, high ceilings, and fine pre-war detailing. Each apartment comes with its own storage.

The building staff includes a doorman, hallmen, porters, and elevator attendants and it has a private gymnasium.
